Understanding the text: God is a Friend and Father who loves man and always desires to relate to him. To worship God is to understand and move through this kind of relationship with Him. The Bible should be loved by us because it reveals His character and how we can relate to Him without betraying His trust. On the other hand, the relationship with Him brings blessing to man, whether in the family, at work, or wherever he may be. Enemies will be miraculously dispersed, and friends will be blessed just by being close to someone who worships God. All human life is covered by the One who first loved Him.
Suggestions:
- — Grab their little hands and feet saying how good God has been in creating these body parts for them.
- — For those who walk, encourage them to thank God for allowing them to walk, jump, and hug others.
- — Allow free play without interfering and interrupt at times by encouraging the children to applaud God for caring for them and allowing them to be together.
- — Showing little animals, either in pictures or on puppets, say: How great God is in giving us these animals to play with!
— Teach a song, such as “Christ loves me,” and show how to worship God with your hands up, on your knees, or with your eyes closed. This helps the children understand the difference between music dedicated to something else and music that is for the Lord.
