I- By delving into Scripture without neglecting its basic teaching.
Deuteronomy 32:28-29 brings very important words such as advice, understanding, comprehension and perception, giving a very important key to becoming doers of God’s Word. All these words point to being able to study it in an organized way to nourish we with it, which is why the text itself says: “to be wise“. When someone knows many topics and, moreover, understands how they are subdivided and interrelated, then he has an advantage over one who has the same knowledge without such skill.
It is like when you analyze the difference between a garden and a wasteland. Both have vegetation, but one has the flowerbeds delimited and the other does not; in one it is easy to reach the different floors and in the other it is not; in one it is easier to take advantage of the fruit it has and the other may not even have them. When someone receives a lot of details, but does not know how to relate them, their intellect will only have a giant load of information that will not help them much to get their life on track. It is true that every detail will arouse curiosity and to a certain degree satisfaction or arrogance, but by not having access to the subject as a whole he will get lost in the middle of the wasteland and in the end, he will be frustrated when he realizes that it was of little use to him.
Therefore, if you want to understand something more deeply, it is necessary to see all the things associated with that subject. Every theme is individually complex in harmony with other individual themes that are coordinated to form a higher complexity. Of course, while being aware that the opposite is also important. In this way, the vision with respect to the set in which each theme is developed is broadened, even coming to see that set as a particular within another set.
It is very important to detail the particularities of a subject and to go deeper and further separate its particulars as you go deeper into it, in such a way that that particular in turn becomes a set of several particulars that allows you to continue fragmenting it, but without losing sight of the fact that any particular or set will always be a dependent and contributing part of another set.
Organizing biblical knowledge into general themes that are interrelated with each other and in turn into specific themes that make it up, allows for better retention and long-term analysis. In this way, the study will surely have more gratification and fruits.
II- Applying the heart to the Word.
Later, in Deuteronomy 32:46-47, Moses’ message has a threefold life teaching:
(1) Reading the Word cannot be just a learning experience, but it must fill the whole being and guide thoughts and actions.
(2) Education for children in God’s Word should be seen by parents as a supreme priority.
(3) Every person who approaches Scripture must keep in mind that it is not simply letter and information, every detail is loaded with wisdom and hidden treasures that will enliven, exhort and give meaning to life.
III- In Christ the song is actualized.
Much of this Song of Moses describes future rebellion against God. This Israel would turn away from God’s protective shield and, paradoxically, then wonder where God went. Finally, amid their suffering the people would return to their connection with Him. This might seem like the theme of the whole song, because it is what it seems at first glance: “An announcement of all that would happen.” However, its real objective goes beyond that.
God wants it to serve as a testimony, as a warning, as a call to prevent His people from making mistakes in the future. We see it we know about history only as an advertisement, but its function was and is for us today to prevent us from being involved as protagonists or contributors to those events.
Every child of God who takes these words to heart can prevent those terrible consequences from happening to him. God has foreseen it that way. How can this be done, just by obeying? No! We know that no man can accomplish everything, but Christ Jesus, the lamb sacrificed for our sins, is permanently atoning for us. So, we can say that in Christ every curse expressed through the commandment is abolished and this remains as the perfect teaching to live it. So that it goes well for us, that is, on the Path of ascent to perfection.
Questions:
1.- Some brothers, despite having been in the gospel for years, avoid deep study claiming that it is not important; For them just being saved is enough and everything must be focused there. Considering this portion, how would you encourage him to break through that barrier without devaluing the supreme place of salvation?

28 “For they are a nation void of counsel, and there is no understanding in them. 29 If they were wise, they would understand this; they would discern their latter end! 30 How could one have chased a thousand, and two have put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had given them up? 31 For their rock is not as our Rock; our enemies are by themselves. 32 For their vine comes from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of poison; their clusters are bitter; 33 their wine is the poison of serpents and the cruel venom of asps.

39 “ ‘See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand. 40 For I lift up my hand to heaven and swear, As I live forever, 41 if I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand takes hold on judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries and will repay those who hate me. 42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh—with the blood of the slain and the captives, from the long-haired heads of the enemy.’
43 “Rejoice with him, O heavens; bow down to him, all gods, for he avenges the blood of his children and takes vengeance on his adversaries. He repays those who hate him and cleanses his people’s land.”
44 Moses came and recited all the words of this song in the hearing of the people, he and Joshua the son of Nun. 45 And when Moses had finished speaking all these words to all Israel, 46 he said to them, “Take to heart all the words by which I am warning you today, that you may command them to your children, that they may be careful to do all the words of this law. 47 For it is no empty word for you, but your very life, and by this word you shall live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess.”

22 And when the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every male who first opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”) 24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the Law of the Lord, “a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.” 25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law, 28 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,
29 “Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; 30 for my eyes have seen your salvation 31 that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.”
33 And his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him. 34 And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed 35 (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.”
36 And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, 37 and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day. 38 And coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.
39 And when they had performed everything according to the Law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. 40 And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon him.
41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. 42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up according to custom. 43 And when the feast was ended, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents did not know it, 44 but supposing him to be in the group they went a day’s journey, but then they began to search for him among their relatives and acquaintances, 45 and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, searching for him. 46 After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48 And when his parents saw him, they were astonished. And his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been searching for you in great distress.” 49 And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” 50 And they did not understand the saying that he spoke to them. 51 And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them. And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart.
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.
Hebrews 4.
1 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. 2 For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,
“As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest,’ ”
although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” 5 And again in this passage he said,
“They shall not enter my rest.”
6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,
“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. 9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
